| CALL TO ORDER: | The meeting was called to order at 8:10 a.m. by the President, Mrs. Henry. |
| PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: (II) | The Pledge of Allegiance was given. |
| PUBLIC COMMUNICATION TO THE BOARD: (III) | None. |
| SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH/DIRECTION SETTING WITH LEADERSHIP ASSOCIATES: (IV) | Members of the Board met in open session with Dr. Harry Weinberg and Dr. Rene Townsend to set direction and discuss characteristics they would like the new Superintendent to possess. Board members provided input and recommended community and staff groups with whom the consultants should meet, a timeline was established, and Dr. Weinberg recommended protocols to be followed during the search. |
| It was moved by Dr. Simons, seconded by Ms
Castrey to approve the protocols and accept the timelines, designating Board
President Henry as the Board’s spokesperson. Motion unanimously carried. |

| CLOSED SESSION: (V) Members of the Board met in open session with Dr. Harry Weinberg and Dr. Rene Townsend to set direction and discuss characteristics they would like the new Superintendent to possess. The Board recommended community and staff groups the consultants should meet. A timeline was established and Dr. Weinberg recommended protocols to be followed during the search. | Board members recessed to Closed Session at 8:47 a.m. to discuss personnel matters pursuant to Government Code section 54957 – specifically to discuss contract parameters for the new Superintendent and to discuss possible candidates. |
