THE DISTRICT
The Huntington Beach Union High School District comprises approximately 48 square miles of southwestern Orange County and serves the communities of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Westminster. Stretching twelve miles along the coast, the district is situated in an area renowned for recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities. Schools of the district include Huntington Beach, Edison, Fountain Valley, Marina, Ocean View, and Westminster high schools, averaging 2100 students each, grades 9-12; Valley Vista Continuation High School which serves approximately 250 students; Adult School and Coast High School (Alternative Ed).
The district is staffed by approximately 670 certificated personnel and 690 classified employees whose excellence in providing a high quality instructional and support system is due in part to a participative leadership style which encourages individual responsibility based upon mutually developed goals at all organizational levels.
