Indian Education Eligibility

Up

Eligibility Is Not Based Upon Any Minimum Blood Quantum.

The Huntington Beach Union High School District is currently funded by the United States Department of Education to operate a supplementary educational program for children of American Indian descent under the auspices of Title IX of the Indian Education Act.  Funding for this program is based upon the total number of students within our district who are known to be of American Indian descent.

If you are aware of ANY American Indian ancestry in your family background, your student(s) may be eligible for participation in this program.  Please take a few moments to fill out the Student Eligibility Certification and return it to us.  The ultimate results of this request could mean additional educational opportunities for your son or daughter.

Please indicate on this form any tribal ancestry of which you are aware, even though you may not wish your student to actively participate in the program.  Please be aware that all information supplied will be regarded as strictly confidential; the information would be released to the Indian Education Parent Committee only upon its request.
