The test systems are offline now due to the final conversion.

10/31/2010 5:35 PM:  Here's important information for the new Staff Directory structure.

10/30/2010 2:30 PM:  The attendance screen now has a Printer Friendly option.  This was requested by PE teachers who need to print the page so they can take attendance away from the computer.   We will be adding printer friendly pages to more screen as soon as we can.

10/26/2010 10:35 AM:  The Preview button you see when editing your Staff Profile will now open a new browser window and take you to your actual profile page for a fully functioning preview.

10/24/2010 3:40 PM:  Here's a housekeeping task we need all teachers to perform once.
Updated 10/25/2010: The Default Class List View option was retired in version 2.

10/18/2010 7:37 AM:  Significant changes were made this weekend to the new systems to address user concerns. Please review this detailed status report.   If you use Easy Grade Pro, please reload your progress grades as soon as you can after reviewing the status report.

10/10/2010 9:45 PM:  The ECS conversion has been completed.  More details here!

October 10, 2010 03:00 PM Update:  The final conversion is still under way.  Things are going fine.  The system will be back online Monday.  We'll notify you by email when it is complete and give you any final instructions then. For now you should not use ECS, SB2000 Classroom and the Parent/Student Portal.
October 9, 2010 06:15 AM Update:  The final conversion is under way.  The system will be back online Monday.  We'll notify you by email when it is complete and give you any final instructions then. For now you should not use ECS, SB2000 Classroom and the Parent/Student Portal.
October 5, 2010 Update:  We are proceeding as planned with this weekend's conversion to the new version of SB2000 Classroom and the Parent/Student Portal.  Neither of those systems will be available this weekend during the conversion.  The ECS login screen  will also be unavailable.  All 4.5 week grade entry must be completed by 4PM on Friday, October 8th.   If all is successful, come Monday you will no longer use ECS to enter assignments or calendar data or import progress grades from Easy Grade Pro.  Those ECS functions, used to transfer data to the Parent/Student Portal, will be performed in SB2000 Classroom.  All ECS and SB2000 Classroom input should cease by 4PM Friday so we may begin the final data conversion from the old system to the new system.  More information will follow later this week.
September. 22, 2010 Update:  To ensure the conversion of your data from ECS to the new version of SB2000 Classroom is accurate and complete, we need all teachers to log into the test version and click on all their links.  They should match the ECS data as of 9/21/2010 when it was last copied over.  Please follow the instructions in the yellow box below.  Your tests must be completed by 4PM on 10/5/2010 (extended from 9/30/2010).

June 16, 2010 Announcement:
We are working on a new version of SB2000 Classroom and the Parent / Student Portal. The primary goal of this new version is to move the current ECS functions needed to support the Parent / Student Portal into SB2000 Classroom to simplify the process.  This means you'll be able to perform all the functions you need to use the Parent/Student Portal in SB2000 Classroom.

Phase One:  The ECS functions that need to be moved to SB2000 Classroom v 3.5 are:

1. Creation and maintenance of teacher profiles, sub pages and assignments
2. Staff directory structure to provide a link on school web pages
3. Non-teaching user accounts for profiles (which also show in directory) and sub pages
4. Import progress grades from Easy Grade Pro into the Parent / Student Portal
5. Emulate ECS calendar features

Existing ECS profiles (except for the picture*), sub pages and assignments will be copied from ECS into the new system so that teachers may review them and report anomalies before we go live sometime in the fall. Because of this automated transfer of data and the program changes required in SB2000 Classroom, the Parent/Student Portal and school web pages, Phase One needs to be highly coordinated.  We will have a test period with a cutoff date when we will all have to move to the new system.  The items above must all be complete and operational before the cutoff.

Phase Two:  We will provide a new, limited grade book feature as an optional alternative to Easy Grade Pro.  The Parent / Student Portal messaging feature for teachers will also be completed in Phase Two and will be accessible via SB2000 Classroom v3.5.

Use this link to Login into the TEST version of the Parent / Student Portal so you can see how your new profile page will look and behave after the data transfer.  Log in using your SB2000 Classroom staff Id and password then click on your school name, then the Staff Directory link on the next page. Find your name in the directory and click on it to display your profile.

Our primary concern now is for you to tell us if your data was NOT transferred properly.  Please report any issues to NewSB2KCR@hbuhsd.org so we can fix them.

If you want to play with the new version of SB2000 Classroom, use this link to Log into the test version of SB2000 Classroom v3.5 (Ignore the security certificate warning; it's OK to continue.).  After logging in using your current SB2000 Classroom account staff id and password, explore the new features found in the Manage pull down menu. These features will replace the functions found in ECS. Training will be provided in the fall.

This is a test environment so be advised that any data you add to your profile, sub pages or assignments will be subject to removal without notice prior to going live.

Information for non-instructional user accounts will be coming later. These users need to be identified so we can communicate with them about the changes. They will login through the Parent / Student Portal, instead of ECS, so they can edit profile pages similar to what they use now in ECS.

*  A quick way to get your current ECS profile picture into the new SB2000 Classroom profile is to look up your ECS profile and right click on the picture to save it to your desktop. Import it from there into the test SB2000 Classroom. The second step will have to be repeated each time we clear out the data in the test system prior to going live with the system so save your picture on your desktop or keep it handy somewhere else.

Current school ECS or ECS "esque" functions that will remain unchanged are the:

Support Ticket System
School Staff Portals  (school must maintain ECS user file to support this feature)
Alumni database
Job Bank  (will be discontinued)
Student Project Center
FuseTalk Forums
